Prior to the customer engaging with Systal, they were utilising their daytime staffing resource to undertake out of hours work, and funding the overtime. This resulted in employees who spent their time on monitoring services rather than business value add. They required an IT Partner who had the expertise and capability to deliver a network monitoring service out of hours.
The client engaged Systal Technology Solutions to provide professional services to review and improve availability of the voice, data and WLAN network .
Complex architectural, configuration and process changes were accomplished resulting in a very significant reduction in the number of network P1 and P2 incidents.
Once stable, the team also deployed Paessler PRTG to monitor all the network devices which provided a detailed view of the network health in real time. Key links were also monitored for throughput and bandwidth issues and alerts were generated when key thresholds were breached giving us visibility of issues before they became much more serious outages. If there was a failure, the Systal team could immediately coordinate with Systal IT staff based onsite to investigate and correct the issue.
